The GTI is nimble; it's impressive and stands out against others in the hatchback category. If your looking for a sporty commuter this car delivers. Second gear is a little tricky and non responsive with a standard. Acceleration is fine but the gas injection according to the shift is a little funky, I guess that's what you get with a VW. Not as quick as I'd like but going into a turn makes up with the surprisingly stiff chassis. Similar to an amusement park go-kart, the drive is fun and exhilarating. Also hearing the car was front wheel drive was a surprise, I never would've guessed unless I tried to do a donut. The exhaust is mediocre and does not sound significant at high RPMs, nothing an after market exhaust system that's not too flashy wont fix.

"It feels like a go kart..."

The interior is also fantastic. The red light bars on the doors are very clean distinctly adding to the sport aspect. Matching the other red undertones, the LEDs make the interior pop. The plaid cloth seating is classic which subtly pairs well with the golf ball engraved shift nob. I almost want to watch a tight, plaid pants golf tournament from the 70's after siting inside the Golf GTI.
