The etymology of the name "Boxster" is simple yet unique. All you do is combine the words roadster and boxer. Obviously the Boxster is a roadster but the word boxer comes from the engine. Porsche placed an internal combustion engine with horizontally opposed pistons in the middle of the car. The layout makes the cylinders move similar to the arms of a boxer which is why the engine is known as a boxer engine.

The balance behind the flat 6 or H6 engine in the middle the car makes for a very smooth ride packed with tons of grip on every turn. And better yet the fun is multiplied by owning a convertible in the state of California. Even if the weathers frigid, turning on the ass warmers and the heat on high the experience is still enjoyable with the top down but maybe with the windows up.
